Honoring our Hero: The United States Navy
Schoolchildren from Los Angeles, CA to San Diego, CA have participated in an act of kindness painting beautiful expressions of Heroes on large art canvases to honor the servicemen and servicewomen of the U.S. Navy, our Hero, on Memorial Day.
Date: Memorial Day (May 29, 2017)
Place: San Diego, CA
Venue: USS Midway, Flight Deck
Time: 11 am – 5 pm with formal Ceremony at 12:30 pm
On May 29, 2017, the Hero Canvases will be exhibited on the USS Midway Flight Deck for the entire community to enjoy, and to write messages of appreciation on the murals to the servicemen and servicewomen of the U.S. Navy. A formal ceremony will feature officials of the U.S. Navy receiving the children’s humanitarian artwork, with the schoolchildren who created the magnificent pieces also present.
