Marja Perren, Founder of the non-profit Dasha Flash® Foundation

that encourages children to be socially conscious launches new children’s book

Toronto, Ontario. (March 17, 2017) Author and philanthropist, Marja Perren is launching her first children’s book, Dasha Saves the Day: At the Park. It is the first in a series of stories that touch a wide variety of topics, from heroism to adventures around the world, engaging children on both an educational and personal level. The Dasha Flash® book series helps to support the initiatives of the Dasha Flash® Foundation.

“We believe acts of kindness are fundamental to nurturing our communities.” says Perren. “Our events, and art plus education initiative, inspire a core understanding in the importance of doing good deeds by taking action. They also recognize the heroes in our society.”

It is a strong belief of the Dasha Flash® Foundation that children who participate in creative acts of kindness not only engage in and learn from their creative undertaking, but also develop an understanding of charity and social consciousness in the act of performing good deeds. Specifically, the community outreach programs of the Dasha Flash Foundation involve children using their creative gifts in the service of an individual or group in the community who may be in need and/or deserve acknowledgment and appreciation for who they are and for the efforts they put forth.

Perren describes the character, Dasha, as “An inspiration to children to trust in themselves and express the kindness within.” The first book in the series is about a little girl who through her love of photography discovers herself to be a hero. In Dasha’s world, anything can happen, and does, and it is up to this adventurous girl and her camera to save the day.

Dasha Saves the Day: At the Park is an interactive book that opens children’s minds to a discussion of acts of kindness, family and friendship, and discovering the hero within themselves.

You can join the adventure with a sneak peek during the upcoming book signings:
